When I came to the US for the first time at the tender age of 22 I had it all planned. Funnily enough, looking at my life now, that plan has pretty much fulfilled itself over the years. Ok, I did not marry the millionaire from the Hamptons, but I did find a good man in 2004, moved in with him just few weeks later, married a year later and moved to the US permanently.
I was lucky to get a decent well-paid job immediately and started expanding my social circles and getting comfortable to this new life. Friends I found online and later at work and at Finnish events. I admit that I used Craigslist to make my first social connections. I found a woman who organized dinner parties for fabulous NYC women and we formed a little group (5-10 people per party) called “Fabulous Ladies”. We would meet every few weeks or so and go have a fancy dinner at some of the nicest restaurants in the city.
Now I have few good friends, a spiritual mentor, I’m still married to the same man and have big dreams. I’m a Pisces and a dreamer. Pisces secret desire is to live their dreams and turn fantasies into realities. We spend so much time in our own form of ‘fantasy land’ this can catch us short in other more worldly areas.
Because of this inner world of fantasy, we seldom perceive whatever is going on around us in its true light. We see life instead as we want to see it, coloring our view of the world in hues and tones far removed from its true reflection. It works for me, dreaming is manifesting. So far it has worked well for me.

Hyvä me!
Onpas taalla kaloja! Haaveilu on hyvasta! Olen vahan siella taalla kertonut alusta taalla, miksi tulin jne, mutta en kylla itsekaan muista olenko koko tarinaani kirjoittanut. Taytyykin kirjoittaa! Tassa juttu paikasta jonne tulin ekat 3 kesaa tyoskentelemaan http://katzandthecity.blogspot.com/2009/05/where-it-all-began-hamptons.html ja
Sounds wonderful, I'm happy for you that things turned out so well 🙂
Makes me wonder….maybe I should try and find a husband from Craig's list, as it seems impossible to find a job in the U.S. otherwise… 😀 Have a great weekend !
Hmmm I probably wouldn't recommend Craigslist for husband hunting, but job section still seems to be ok. I use it daily to browse through jobs in my area. Sometimes I checked the platonic section and even there are tons of whackos so I can imagine how the men looking for women section looks like… Creepy…
Oh, sounds that you're really happy. I wish all the best for you and your life in US. My life in Germany is nowadays very happy, too; good jobs and friends make it all easier 🙂
I'm glad to hear that! All other parts in life seem to be in nice balance, but one. Job is my number one headache, but I have a feeling that soon enough I'll be free from it and finally can do what I dream to do for living. I've been dreaming about it for a while now so it's only a matter of time when that shall come true as well. Dreaming it is manifesting it.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Dream big! Ehdottomasti! 😀
Löysin blogisi hiljattain ja on kiva lukea elämästäsi Nycissä. Toivon myös että unelmasi myös työn suhteen toteutuvat – ja uskon niin. Itsekin unelmien perässä… saavuttaakseni ne 🙂
