For our first two night in Helsinki we stayed in this castle-like hotel Glo Hotel Art in the hipster part of town called Punavuori. My great grandmother used to live here so I kind of remembered it being nice area. It’s right next to the Hietalahti Market Hall and flea market as well as a short walk from the city center.
The room was a bit small to our liking, but had queen size bed, great closet space, desk and a comfortable armchair. Shower was nice and big too, but unfortunately the bathroom had no heated floor. C’mon it’s Finland! You need heated bathroom floors! It was the one thing I really looked forward to in Finland after all these years in the unheated bathroom floors in the US. Bummer.
We interacted with the front desk quite frequently and everyone was super nice and helpful. They also rent Jopo-bikes for guests for 5 euros per day which was great. What a better way to get to see Helsinki in the summer!
