LAUNDRY DAY

When I have no plans for my days off, I usually just start my day off with a green smoothie and go from there; clean the house, organize, file papers and pay bills, budget for the following week, and do laundry.
I just found these soap nuts from our local eco-store and so far been using them to wash colors and they’re working just fine. Haven’t tried on whites yet. You just put 3-4 nuts in the bag that comes with the package and toss it in the washer. Use them as long as they feel slippery. I don’t know how much more natural can you go. Soap nuts are the dried fruit of the Chinese Soapberry tree. They contain saponin, a natural cleaner used for thousands of years to clean clothes, just like the plants used by Native Americans for washing. Pretty awesome.
If you like the laundry room vibe you can just sit down here and enjoy the spinning. I think if we had kids I would spend lots of time here, hiding from everyone.
Even our laundry room is in the basement and I find our basement quite creepy, there’s multiple glass block windows so it gets great light.
