Kat’s Meows of the Week

Time keeps flying so fast I can barely keep up. Weeks go by quicker than ever and I cannot believe it has been already 3 months since I started my new(ish) job, and one month since picking up my hot yoga practice again by joining a yoga studio.  I sit all day and it feels amazing to sweat and stretch at the end of the day. But, without a further ado, here are my Kat’s Meows of the week. Check out the previous ones here.

Loving…  This non-alcoholic fluoride-free Ayurvedic mouthwash. I usually make my own using essential oils, but every now and then I like to try new products.

Eating… Square Organics protein bars. I always have something snack on in my bag because hunger happens and being hangry ain’t fun. These bars have 10-13g of sprouted plant protein, coconut nectar and they’re coated in real chocolate, gluten-free, soy-free, and plant-based.

Listening to…  Still my fave podcast: Food Heals Nation

Reading… Universe has your back. I completely fell off the reading bandwagon, but I’m ready to get back now that life is getting back into routine. Gabby and I go way back (here) and I feel uplifted listening/reading her stuff. Still, after all these years.

Drinking…. Matcha lattes with almond milk (unsweetened). Since quitting coffee (almost) completely I’ve switched my warming morning mocha to matcha. Very high in antioxidants and still with some caffeine I find matcha the perfect replacement.

Smelling… Indian temple oil. My favorite since 1998. I also got some Palo Santo sticks for smudging and love adding it to my sacred morning ritual.

Adoring… Northern California nature. I am blown away every single day. And I don’t even have to leave the city!

Craving… Acai Bowls. I started enjoying acai bowls 3 months ago and now they’ve become my weekly indulgence. Why would anyone even want ice cream anymore when they can have this, or Freeze (frozen juice treat similar to frozen yogurt but without added sugar and dairy).

Inspired by... Herbal self-care retreat I recently attended at a private estate in gorgeous East Bay hills. We meditated, chanted, did journaling, drank herbal teas, ate delicious veg food, self-reflected, connected, danced, stretched, made herb-infused honey, and simply enjoyed the day dedicated just for us.

Looking forward to… Compassion in Action Conference in Oakland with Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. Can’t wait to connect with like-minded sisters and brothers and together make our world a better place for the animals, the earth and the people.

Quote that is appropriate to the current time… “At the end of the day remind yourself that you did the best you could today, and that is good enough.” Lori Deschene
