Memorial Day Weekend in Lake Tahoe

I’ve been longing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and once the long weekend came, we drove 3 hrs towards Nevada, to Lake Tahoe. It is mind-blowing to realize that we have such amazing natural reserves around us, just a short drive away. The drive to Lake Tahoe over the mountains was a bit scary at some points, but we made it there alive. Our weekend was focusing on relaxation, good food and spending time in nature. It was the perfect way to recharge my batteries because the following week at work was as hectic as it can get. Some great meals we had on this trip were from Primo’s Italian Bistro, Blue Angel Cafe (blackened tofu tacos and coconut crusted tofu appetizers were amazing!) and Azul Latin Kitchen. We stayed in South Lake Tahoe (Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel) but next time we would definitely rent a cabin somewhere away from all the touristy stuff (and tourists :)).

Looking forward to our next week’s girls getaway to another peaceful place. Follow that trip on my Instagram stories next weekend!

  1. Hey, google lead me here, keep up nice work.

  2. Greetings, just wanted to share with you that we had a great holiday at Marina de Bolnuevo in September of this year. We flew into San Javier and hired a car from the airport for the short drive to Bolnuevo. The beaches are fantastic, most of them awarded the Blue Flag. The bars were great, with paella on the beach a must and managed a day on the nudist beach there. Very liberating. We also visited the Big Guns, The Roman Mines and the Sand sculptures. Will be returning there again next year. Thanks for reading Niall.
