Life Lately

If you’ve seen my Instagram stories these past two weeks you may have noticed that I’ve started a new gig in San Francisco’s Financial District. The view from our 15th floor office towards the Bay Bridge is just magnificent. I could just stare out the window entire day, day dreaming and getting inspired.

I forgot how quickly my body starts regaining flexibility at heated yoga, compared to non-heated. Feels so good to really stretch deep to balance long period of sitting down hunching over a computer. I’m also using these natural helpers for my stiff neck and shoulders (pictured below). The best feeling was though when I went to Tuesday evening Yoga on the Labyrinth at Grace Cathedral straight from work. My body was craving for long stretches and deep breathing after a long office day. It felt like heaven. What a gorgeous place to do yoga!

I’ve also found some great new places for lunch like Blue Hawaii (we had delicious acai bowls from there for our office breakfast), Mixt (salad bar), Eatsa (high-tech vegetarian/vegan quinoa bowls pictured below) and a bunch of places at Rincon Center.

I enjoy coming to the city early, having a cup of tea or coffee and sitting either outdoors, or inside Rincon Center watching the beautiful 150-foot-tall “rain column” dripping recycled water from the skylighted ceiling. It’s so pretty and soothing.

Other cool things I’ve discovered these past weeks: Betabrand. I bought their pants for that business casual office look and love them (not pictured)! Yes, they’re a bit pricey, but high-quality and as comfortable as yoga pants. They make pants that you can take from office to yoga class. Of course they got me with that!

I also bought foundation powder for the first time in 2 years. I’ve gone almost 100% make-up free since leaving East Coast embracing the laid-back California vibe, but morning hot yoga required a little something afterwards to tone down my red-like-a-tomato face. I’ve been a huge fan of 100% Pure for years so I got their powder as well as a cute lip tint.

And what a surprise it was when after business-casual-wardrobe shopping (got two black blouses so no-one can tell if I’m wearing the same clothes every day) I went to buy green juice to re-energize (I hate shopping) and found that Pressed Juicery now has their famous Freeze in San Francisco. I’ve been waiting for this day forever! Freeze is a vegan dessert (like frozen yogurt but better) using only juices from fruits and vegetables, almonds and coconuts, packed with the same nutrition found in their juices. Oh, and guess what I topped mine with? Cacao and almond butter drizzle and … wait for it… green juice gummy bears! Mind blown!

Since I don’t have as much free-time as I used to, and not wanting to eat take-out all the time (it gets old really fast) I signed us up for Purple Carrot. They’ll deliver ingredients for 3 vegan meals for the week on Tuesdays and all is left to do is to cook it. So looking forward to it! Goodbye to cooking the same thing over and over again. When I tried Blue Apron a few years ago I loved how very different types of foods I got to cook instead of my usual go-tos (stews and curries). Try Purple Carrot and get $25 off.

Coming soon: My experiments with essential oils from Aroma Foundry. Stay tuned.
